A wedding is a happy event full of joy for two people creating a life together. Working with couples to help them shape their vision for their wedding
day is truly a pleasure. Wedding invitations will set the tone for your wedding and shape the décor of your venue, the cake, the flowers, the tables,
photography, your favors and much more. Once we have designed your invitations, everything will start to come together. Because the wedding stationary is handcrafted and customized to the bride and groom it has become a keepsake for many couples and their guests.
Nevada County is a magical place for your wedding, with a variety of very talented vendors in the area for your convenience. Your guests will enjoy their time spent in the area as well. I have always called Nevada County my home and continue to feel fortunate to live and work here. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Chico and a Certificate of Clothing Design from Sacramento City College. Merging these two areas of study into designing wedding stationary packages with beautiful paper, ribbon, illustrations, hand painting, typography and more that reflects the couple’s personalities is a dream for me.
However, whether you live in the area or in another state, I am happy to collaborate with you on your wedding project. If we can’t meet in person, we can meet over the phone or by email, the information is gathered in the same way. I will do some research and gather some materials and mail you one or two samples for your approval. Revisions are made and when it is approved production begins.
I look forward to meeting and working with you. My goal is to provide you with a product that exceeds your expectations and will be a simple and positive experience.
I offer free consultations. Call me, Phyllis Orzalli, at 530.913.8473 and visit my website at www.studio-nine-design.com

We’ve probably all heard the wives tale “don’t get a facial before your wedding”, accompanied by drastic warnings of what will happen if you do. Although it’s true that getting a chemical peel or your first ever brow wax the day before your wedding is not a good idea, this shouldn’t steer you away from setting aside for yourself to relax and be pampered with a relaxing facial the week before your wedding. This last week can be quite hectic, and a facial may come as a welcome retreat to get centered and relaxed amongst the bustle.
Yet if your skin is feeling the stresses of aging and environmental damage, as most of our skin is, an early visit to your esthetician could have your skin glowing by wedding day. By starting out 2-6 months before your wedding, your esthetician can create a treatment plan to effectively reduce the signs of aging, lighten dark spots, and even the texture of your skin so that your complexion is radiant and fresh for your big day. It’s definitely possible to reverse the signs of environmental damage and get beautiful glowing skin, but this doesn’t happen overnight says Marica Lane, Spa Director at Bon Bon Salon in Grass Valley. Remember, it took years to cause the damage, don’t be fooled to think it can be safely reversed overnight. Often quick fixes such as abrasive techniques and harsh chemical treatments can cause more stress and damage on the skin than benefit.
Marica recommends this simple timeline for picture perfect skin:
2-6 months before the wedding: visit esthetician for treatment plan to correct pigmentation, texture, and break-outs.
6-8 weeks: If you’ve never had your brows waxed, then this is the time to start. You’ll want to get them shaped first, and allow time to get used to your new beautiful brow.
4 weeks before: trail run with your hair and make-up. The importance of having your make-up done by a professional is priceless. Professional make-up artists know how to apply make-up to best highlight your features on camera. This is a very important aspect of looking beautiful in your professional photographs.
3-4 days before wedding: a relaxing facial, massage, and final brow wax. This is your time to be relax, be pampered, and indulge in being “the Bride””
1 day before wedding: Manicure and Pedicure. This is a great way to spend the afternoon with your bridesmaids before the wedding. It’s best to have your nails done the day prior to the wedding, as your actual wedding day will be filled with so many other things.
Day of wedding: Professional hair and make-up.
